3555 HWY 7

The project, 3555 Hwy 7, creates a new understanding of the growing aspirations in the City of Markham. It merges ideas that reframe an understanding of space for living through fully integrated transdisciplinary strategies. It offers a new urban porosity, linking city systems in a convergence of experience and meaning. Architectural definition creates a dialogue within the site, and far beyond into the city.

Infrastructure, urban fluidity, landscape across the whole site frame a series of public and private spaces, amenities and retail experiences. This new understanding of the city embraces the potential for effective and meaningful resilience strategies, helping define a narrative for the residents. This is a new Markham, rich in experience, iconic, ethically assertive and offering smart capability and user engagement beyond anything else in the city.

Four Design Drivers

These four relevant drivers are not only retained here, but now form the structure of the design intent, and will be the pillars of the formal, programmatic and structural explorations for the rest of the project design and development.

Site Plan

The key objectives is to create a link between HWY 7 and Majestic Park by splitting the podiums and designing a new public space, the neighbourhood plaza, lined with amenities, retail and outdoor seating. The podiums are also lined with program to allow cross visual links into the plaza and from one podium to the other. A mixed-use of amenities, office spaces, event spaces and dining areas all line the podiums facing the plaza..
